Reasons To Sleep on an Adjustable Bed
- Snoring: When lying flat, you begin to constrict your airways which causes snoring. Slight elevation of the head relieves that. Commonly referred to as “Antisnore Position”.
- Acid Reflux: When flat, your esophagus is in alignment with your stomach. This can allow the stomach acid to “Back Up” into your esophagus causing acid reflux and heartburn.
- RLS: Commonly called “Restless Leg Syndrome” can be relieved by slight elevation of your legs to improve blood flow in the legs. Also, a massage feature can relieve muscle pain due to RLS.
- Leg Swelling: Slight elevation of the legs will improve circulation to the legs by putting them in closer alignment to the heart to help reduce swelling.
- Independence: As we age it becomes more difficult to get in and out of bed. Raising the bed to a sitting position will allow you to simply slide your legs off the edge and stand up. Also, adjustable leg heights can taylor the beds elevation to suit YOU.
- Relieves Back Pain: While not a cure, adjusting your mattress can put you in a more pain free environment.
- Sit and Sleep: Raising the back/head is ideal for TV viewing and reading.
- Digestion: Lying flat can actually disrupt digestion. If you elevate the head by 6 to 8 inches you will achieve healthier digestion.
- Arthritis: Slightly raising legs (6” to 8”) will improve circulation. This will help relieving inflammation which contributes to arthritis. Adjusting to more comfortable positions will also lessen inflammation.
- Muscle Soreness: Finding a comfortable position can relieve muscle soreness. Also, the popular massage feature can also relieve muscle soreness.
